Maxine Blaumer, wife of Joseph M. Blaumer, was born March 8, 1921 in Dallas, Oregon. She was a direct descendant of Nahum King who came to Oregon on the Oregon Trail in 1845 and settled in Kings Valley. She attended Dallas schools, was a homemaker and worked briefly for the US Post Office and Capital Manor Retirement Home. She volunteered after her retirement for Senior Townhouse Meals and Meals-on-Wheels. She was particularly fond of gardening, crocheting and travel. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son Rolland Brill of Cottage Grove, OR; daughters, Jo Ellen Venneri of Vancouver, WA and Donna Perry of Aurora, OR; and 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 11 AM to 4 PM Monday, February 14th at Restlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 15th at Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem.
