Merle C. Plank August 10, 1918 - December 5, 2010 MESA, ARIZ. - Merle C. Plank, 92, of Mesa, Arizona and long-time Salem resident passed away on December 5, 2010. Merle was born in McLaughlin, S.D. and was married to Eunice. M. Plank on April 3, 1948. He and his wife owned West Side Appliance Service in West Salem for 30 years. Merle was a member of several Salem area Masonic organizations, including Ainsworth Lodge #33 and Al Kader Shrine Club. For over 10 years, he supported and volunteered his time to the Masonic Youth organizations, Job's Daughters and Demolay. Merle is survived by his wife, Eunice of Mesa, Ariz.; son, Kerry Plank of Miami, Fla.; and daughter and son in-law, Mike and Shanna Palumbo of Gilbert, Ariz. Grandchildren include, Brandon and Kelsey Plank of Salem, Ore, Kevin Plank, Germany, Alexander Palumbo, 18, a Freshman at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff and Cailin Palumbo, 16, a Junior at Mesquite High School in Gilbert, Ariz. Funeral arrangements will include a Memorial Service on Friday, December 11, 2010, held at Desert Palm United Church of Christ in Tempe, Ariz. Masonic Services in Salem, Ore. on January 4, 2011 at the Salem Scottish Rite Center located at 4090 Commercial Street S.E. Arrangements are under the direction of Restlawn Funeral Home, Salem, Oregon
