Myrtle Louise Howard

April 26, 1929 — September 28, 2014

Myrtle Louise Howard was born April 26th, 1929 in Eugene, Oregon and went to be with the Lord on September 28th, 2014 in Salem, Oregon at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 29 days.
Myrtle was born into the home of Jewel and Vera (Vincent) Tedrow, the eldest of three daughters. She grew up in Waldport, Oregon where she attended schools, graduating from Waldport High School, class of 1947. Myrtle loved music and playing the piano. In July of 1947 she received a Scholarship to the Sherwood Music School which she completed in October of 1949. Myrtle was awarded a four year certificate of Merit and piano proficiency by the Oregon Music Teachers Association.
Her family first attended the Presbyterian Church but for most of her growing up years attended Waldport Assembly of God where Myrtle played the piano for services.
Following graduation Myrtle worked for the 1st National Bank for 9 years. She Married Ronald H. Howard on September 27th, 1963 at West Salem Baptist Church. The Howards have lived in Salem since being married, recently celebrating 51 years. Myrtle enjoyed being a homemaker and loved nurturing the flowers and roses growing in her large yard.
Over the years the Howards were very faithful church attenders at Lancaster Bible Church, Keizer Faith Center and for the past 20 years at Brooks Assembly, where Myrtle served as Missionette Coordinator for 15 years. Myrtle also worked with Missionettesgirls at Keizer Faith Center.
Myrtle was preceded by the death of her Parents and sister Leola Erickson.
Myrtle L. Howard is survived by her loving husband, Ron; a sister, Eva Squires of Arizona; a stepson, Ronald Dean Howard (Shannon) of Dallas, Oregon; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Albonico of Madero, Ca.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandchildren.
