Myrtle M Burright
April 19, 1920 - October 17, 2016
Salem, OR - Myrtle M. Burright passed away on October 17, 2016, surrounded by her family after a remarkable life spanning over 96 years. At her passing she was met by her Savior, Jesus, her late husband Harold, and her son, Dennis.
She was born in Stewart, OK on April 19, 1920, the youngest of 10 children to William E. Page and Ida M. Reeves. In the late 1920's Myrtle and her family embarked on a journey west from Oklahoma ultimately settling in the Lake Labish area by 1930.
In 1936 when her father passed away, Myrtle sacrificed her education and started working to help support her family. She worked for many years on farms and canneries around Salem and was very well liked by all that met her, many of whom remained in contact with her until her passing.
As fate would have it, Myrtle met a handsome young man named William 'Harold' Burright at a roller rink in Salem, OR and they married on October 5, 1940. Myrtle stood by Harold as he served in the US Navy during World War II while raising their son Dennis, and daughter Patti in Keizer, OR. Harold and Myrtle remained joyfully married until Harold's passing in 1987.
Myrtle and Harold loved to spend camping at Detroit Lake with their family. The Granddaughters especially enjoyed the home made hash browns that Myrtle would make for breakfast. Myrtle tried to teach her technique to others, but they weren't the same. They didn't have her love.
While she never remarried after Harold's, Myrtle spent her time investing in her family and many hours at sporting events cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At her passing, Myrtle was the matriarch of her family with five living generations. She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Roger) Roth; daughter-in-law, Sharon Burright; four granddaughters: Jodi Roth-Stenerson, Denise Boutell, Jackie Lyons, and Laurel Epperly; eight great-grandchildren: Brittany, Kelsey, Ashlee, William Michael, Austin, Paige, Sydney and Riley. Also two great-great-granddaughters: Orion and Hollyn; as well as nieces and nephews beyond counting.
The family of Myrtle would like to thank Bonaventure, the staff and Gayle for taking such good care of this wonderful lady.
