Nettielee was born in Oklahoma and moved to Renton, Washington as a baby, where she lived until age 11. She lived in Pasadena and Escondido until 1979, when she moved to Salem, Oregon. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, country drives, watching football and tennis and cooking holiday meals. Red roses were her favorite flower. She was famous for the world's best, fluffiest pancakes. Her grandchildren's most treasured memories are from time spent at her Spanish-style home on Michillinda in Pasadena. Grandma will be well-remembered and never forgotten.
She is survived by her son, Sturmon Peterson, Sheridan, OR; Daughter-in-law Barbara Peterson, Oakhurst, CA; Grandchildren: Sue Meier (Rick), Keizer, OR; Mike Peterson, Oakhurst, CA; Sandra Peterson, Los Gatos, CA; Karen Collins (Tim), Monrovia, CA; Great-Grandchildren: Denise Palke, Darrel Palke (Hollie), Kevin Palke, Rosemary Philpott, Cassandra Collins, Tamara Collins, Amelia Collins and Nathan Collins; and Great-Great Grandchild Aiden Twemlow.
Services will be held at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd NW, Salem, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army. A special thank you to Evelyn Young, her friend for many years, and the staff at Farmington Square and Willamette Valley Hospice for their care and compassion in her final few months.
