Norma Jean Howe June 26, 1943 - November 1, 2008 KEIZER - Born June 26, 1943, in Commerce, Oklahoma. Norma passed away November 1, 2008, after fighting many years of ill health. She was married to Jesse A. Howe, who was a longtime resident of the North Howell area. Her husband preceded her in death in 1993. Norma retired from the State Fire Marshall's office after 20 years of service. She has left many family and friends. She is survived by daughter, Celestia Read and son-in-law, Greg Read of Keizer; sons, Terry Howe of Salem and Gordon Howe of Palm Springs, Calif.; grandchildren, Kyle Read and his wife Carrie, Kaitlynn Read, Katrina, Jason, Ethan, and Elizabeth Howe, Sara Thurston, Christina and David Howe; two great-grandsons; brother, Richard Ross and sister-in-law, Charlotte of Rose, Okla.; sisters, Barbara Olene Dover of Rose, Okla. and Billie Higgs of Covington Mill, Calif.; brother, Gene and sister-in-law, Mebble Hansen of Fairbanks, Alaska; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. One great-granddaughter, Dylan Mischelle Read, preceded her in death by one week. She will be missed by many friends throughout the country. Norma was very warm and loving and she cherished her family and friends. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 7 at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW., Salem.
