O. E. "Van" Sturdivant

February 25, 1918 — March 2, 2011

O.E. (Van) Sturdivant, age 93, passed away at home. Van was born in San Antonio, Texas and was drafted in the Army during WWII and honorably discharged from the Army Air Corp 1945. He was raised in Paducah, Texas and moved to Salem, OR in 1954 and helped open and operated the first roller rink in West Salem, Skateland. He later owned and operated Eola Mobile Home Sales and Court in West Salem. Van is survived by his beloved wife Berneice of 72 years; son Steve (Carol) and Grandchildren Caleb (Tamra), James (Diane), Andrew (Jeri), Jon (Patty); and seven great grandchildren. Memorial services at West Salem Baptist Church, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome.
