Opal M. Snyder

SALEM - Opal M. Snyder, 90 years of age, met her Maker on September 29, 2007. Opal was born December 18, 1916 in Saltillo, Tenn, the eldest of three children. She married Stanley Snyder on May 8, 1944. They had two children, Stanley and Linda. Opal was a homemaker, and worked for the State of Oregon for many years, until she retired. She and Stan spent their retirement years traveling, fishing, and being snowbirds in Yuma, Ariz. After Stan's death in 1998, she moved to Cedar Village Assisted Living Community, where she resided until her death. Opal always had a smile. She was a favorite among staff and residents at Cedar Village, and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sanders Martin and Thomas Floyd Martin. She is survived by her son, Stanley Snyder of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Linda Larkin of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Stanley V. Snyder III, August Duane Snyder, April Dawn Mathews, and James Patrick Larkin; great-granddaughters, Victoria Larkin and Mary Elizabeth Larkin; numerous nieces and nephews, and her many friends at Cedar Village Assisted Living Community.
