Patrick O’Neil, 81 of Salem, Oregon passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 25th, 2022.
Patrick was born on June 27th, 1941 to Richard and Bertha Mae O’Neil in Milwaukie, Oregon. After attending Lebanon High School, he then entered the Marine Corp in 1961. Patrick served for his county serving in the Korean and Vietnam War. Once getting out of the Military, Patrick then meets his wife of 57 years Sharon; they began a family. The beginning of 3 children. Patrick was working in the Grocery business for about 5 years before beginning Advertising Art School for 3 years. Then went to work at C Graphics until the business closed. Patrick and Sharon decided to open P.S. Signs & Graphics in 1982. There he worked from home and raising his family. Later closed the shop to go to work for the State of Oregon, in the Sign Shop, Patrick retired in 2005.
Patrick loved sports, used to be on a bowling league and coached his sons and grandsons in little league baseball. He took pride in being a coach and watching the kids play ball. Pat loved camping at Taylor Park, where he and his family had a campsite for 40+ years.
Patrick was a man of very few words but, when she spoke, he normally had some joke or wisecrack that would totally shock people. He loved to joke around but he loved his family and friends even more.
Anyone who knew Patrick knew that he was the most loving spouse, father and friend anyone could ask for. Patrick was predeceased by his father Richard, his mother Bertha Mae, sister Peggy Dickey and Son John O’Neil. He is survived by wife Sharon O’Neil, daughter Tina Smith, son P.D. O’Neil and daughter-in-law Cindy Foht-O'Neil, and Courtney Boatwright and Paul Martinmaas, Grandchildren: Brandy, Jennifer, Mitchell, Selena, Tyler, Kolby, Karli, James, Kenzee, Dana, Payton and Madyson, and Great Grandchildren: Dakota, Dustin, MJ, Sadee, Harper, Chrissy and Ryder.
Services will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church 721 Chemeketa St NE Salem, OR 97301. Rosery starts at 9:30 am, Mass Service at 10:00 am, Reception to follow. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Restlawn Memory Gardens & Funeral Home 201 S Oak Grove Rd NW Salem, OR 97304.
