Phyllis Jean Longton, 81, of Salem passed away on June 15, 2020. She was born April 18, 1939 in Urbana, IL to Walter and Esther Peters. She
moved when she was young to Monterey, California where she grew up and attended school. She then moved to Salem, Oregon where she
resided for over 50 years. Phyllis worked as an office manager for Children Services Division for the State of Oregon for 33 years. She retired from PERS in 1998 and enjoyed her retirement for 22 years. She enjoyed so many close friendships from work and got together with them as often as she could. Phyllis collected Pillsbury Doughboy and loved to read and watch game shows. She bowled on a weekly bowling league over the years with the Golden Girls and won a 1 st place bowling trophy for WIBC league champion in 2002. She loved spending time with friends each week for lunch and
attended numerous sporting events to watch her great grandchildren play. She loved to travel and spend time with family. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Walter Peters Jr., and Jimmy Richardson; sisters Carol Richardson and Dianne Greatsinger and son David Martin. She is survived by her brothers Herman Richardson and John Richardson; sisters Judy Walling, Joyce Phelps and Lottie Richardson; son Anthony Martin; daughters Mary Johnson-Derr, Teresa Arnold and Lisa Anderson; 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
