Ralph Dennis Fough, beloved
husband and father, passed away
quietly at his home on Monday at
the age of 72. Born in Nebraska
to Ralph and Ernestine Fough he
graduated from Cascade High
School in Aumsville and received
his B.S. from George Fox College
. Ralph served in the Army from
1964-68, including a tour in
Vietnam. He served in the Oregon
National Guard for over 20 years
in the Fixed Wing Unit. When
he returned from Vietnam, he
received training and became a
computer tech/network admin.,
and computer teacher for the
Cascade School District. Ralph
was well known for being a gentle
joker, someone who loved to
laugh. He loved taking road trips
and during his first marriage, took
his young family all over the west
coast in a 1969 Chevy Van. This
love of driving continued after he retired, when he and
his wife Susan took their RV and traveled the country
spending several winters in Palm Desert, CA. Ralph was
a lifelong learner and was always interested to see where
that "new road" led. Ralph was preceded in death by his
parents and siblings, Glenn and Arta. Ralph is survived
by his wife Susan Fough, his daughters, Tanya Catterton
(Wayne), and Erin Fough. Stepchildren LeRoy Helton,
Dawn Tiller (Jonathan) and grandson Christopher Helton
as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will
be held Saturday May30 at 1:00 PM. At Restlawn Funeral
Home in West Salem. In lieu of flowers please send a
