Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Griswold-Chinnaswamy

June 6, 1984 — June 27, 2024

Becky Lynn Griswold-Chinnaswamy, age 40 passed away on a beautiful Oregon sunny day on June 26, 2024. Becky had been fighting courageously through a physical illness for a few years. She fought bravely these last six months when the illness caused extreme suffering and pain. Even so, she found joy in nature, love of animals, and connection with empathetic people. Her family, friends and coworkers meant the world to her, and she really appreciated all those that reached out with visits, texts, calls, and cards.

Becky loved animals, nature, travel, and sunshine and especially a vacation that involved them all. She was a perfectionist and an empath who touched people's lives at work and home. She had a divine voice which soothed the soul of all that heard her sing. She had a big caring heart and would jump to help anyone in need.

Becky was born on June 6, 1984, in Veneta, Oregon, to parents Kent and Cathy Griswold. Becky was a well-educated woman, holding a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Organizational Behavior from Marylhurst University and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Literature from Portland State University. Becky worked for SAIF Corp as a senior safety management consultant. She was compassionate and dedicated. She cared deeply for the customers she worked with, as well as for her colleagues at SAIF. She was recently honored at the year-end celebration for the work she and SAIF's team did to support a policyholder after a tragic vehicle crash. That was one example of the way she has served with heart, but there were countless others.

Ani and Becky were married on the island of Kauai on July 3, 2018. Becky mentioned it was the biggest decision of her life, and she was at peace that it was the right one. They both vowed to be in love and together until death did them part. Becky loved the paradise of Hawaii. She was the happiest on the Hawaiian islands, lying by the beach reading a book, listening to Hawaiian music, having her husband pamper her with leis and tropical drinks, and enjoying luau.

Becky is survived by her loving husband, Ani Chinnaswamy, her father Kent Griswold, her mother Ellen Griswold, her aunt Dottie Nichols, Marie Pieren (family), and her Great Aunt Darlene Campbell, Chinnaswamy KR and Pankaja HV (in-laws), brother Steven (Mona) Griswold, Akhilesh Chinnaswamy (Brother in-law), and nephew Stone. She is also missed by her uncles, cousins, coworkers, and friends.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother Cathy Griswold, Grandma Betty Nichols, and Grandpa Chuck Nichols.
