Richard Stanley Fleener was born on August 15, 1928 to Archie and Hester Fleener in Salem, Oregon. He passed away surrounded by his family on May 7, 2011. He had one brother, William.
Richard (Dick) lived his entire 82-year life in the Salem-Keizer area. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. On October 19, 1956 he married Alma L. Schuh and they cherished their 54 years together. Richard and Alma lovingly raised three children; Karla Fleener Shuholm, Julie Fleener Black and Richard (Dick) Fleener. His 60-year career as a commercial electrician was a source of pride and pleasure for him as well. He especially enjoyed training apprentices and having a part in their futures. He was recognized by his colleagues for his attention to detail and exceptional work quality. Richard also loved serving with the National Guard Reserves and fishing from the bank of a river.
Over the years, Richard and Alma were blessed with seven grandchildren: Sarah, Hannah and Leah Shuholm, Nicole and Alex Black, Lauren and Henry Fleener. Richard is predeceased by his father, mother and his brother. He is survived by his loving wife Alma, his children Karla Shuholm (Dan), Julie Black and Dick Fleener (Danna), his grandchildren and numerous members of the extended Schuh family. Richard will be cherished and missed by each and every one of his family and friends all over the Willamette Valley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the West Hills Community Church in Salem, Oregon. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Restlawn Funeral Home.
