Richard E. Warren

"Came to Earth September 2, 1927, returned Home, March 23, 2010" Richard was born in Lallie, N.D. to Everett Warren and Martha Leachman Warren. The family moved to Oregon in 1936. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Chilton from 1943-1946. After the war, he returned to Aumsville, Ore. where he married Ramona Watson in 1947. Richard was a licensed electrician. He worked for the State of Oregon for 18 years, retiring as Maintenance Supervisor at Hillcrest School in 1991. In retirement, one of things he enjoyed was serving with Gideons International, distributing Bibles to schools and hotels. Richard was preceded in death by his son, James E. Warren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ramona Warren; his daughter, Barbara (Jack) McMurchy; daughter-in-law, Karen Warren; grandchildren, Patrick, Stacey, Brenda and Jennifer; sister, Betty Heiser; and numerous neices and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., April 12, 2010 at Salem First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Gideons International or Willamette Valley Hospice.
