SALEM - Robert William Mytton, 'Bob', died at home Saturday, November 24, at the age of 76. He was born in Los Angeles, California on February 9, 1931, to Theodore Leonard Lloyd Mytton and Dorothy McPherson. Bob spent five years at sea as a marine engineer, beginning when he was 16; and explored many parts of the world in his journeys. He then served active duty for the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the war, he returned to southern California, where he began his career in hi-tech semiconductors. In 1956, he married Doris Eleanor Tebo.
Bob spent more than 50 years in the semiconductor industry, and held several management positions during his career. His employment brought him to live in many places; but most of his career was spent in the SF Bay Area. Bob loved to play golf, keep his mind sharp with cross-word puzzles, was an avid reader, and a loving pet-owner. He was very patriotic and supportive of our U.S. troops. His work associates and family members knew him to be loyal and honest in every way. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris; children, David Mytton of Palo Alto, Calif., Richard Mytton of San Francisco, Calif., Linda Pass of Salem, and Cindy Jacobson of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
