SALEM - Bob was born in Portland, but was raised in Glenwood and Grandview, Wash. After high school graduation, he went into the Marine Corps and served 20 years active duty and 10 years in the reserves. During that time, he met and married Ruth. They had two children, and three grandchildren. The family moved to Salem in 1995, to retire in the Northwest. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Frey. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughter, Lorinda; grandsons, Lucas Frey and Jared Barnett; and granddaughter, Baylie Barnett
