Robert L. "Bobby" Smith March 10, 1931 - November 5, 2010
SALEM - Robert L. "Bobby" Smith, age 79, left his family and friends on November 5, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Bob was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Alfreda Louise Hanks and Carroll Robert Smith, and was raised in the Pacific Northwest. Bob retired honorably from the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling and playing with his tractor. He also joyfully rode and collected motorcycles, but his true passion was dancing, laughing and dreaming with his wife and the love of his life, Mary Lou Smith. He also loved sharing joy and the beach with his beloved dog, Bailey. Bob is survived by a very large and loving family. Remains will be interred during a private ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Donations in memory of Bob can be made to DaVinci Middle School in Portland, Oregon.
