Roberta went to be with the Lord on the 20th of May, 2016 in Sublimity Oregon at the age of 76.
She was born in Coos Bay Oregon to Robert W. Zumwalt and Jean E. Adams Zumwalt on the 13th of August, 1934. She was the first of four siblings. Her schooling consisted of Highland Elementary, Parrish Jr. High, and graduated from North Salem High School in 1958. Later on, she married in Salem OR, where she resided and raised her four children.
Throughout her life she worked in various locations including doing retail at Ross and Goodwill, and later helping out in the kitchen at Highland Elementary. Upon retirement she would continue volunteering at Highland by helping out in the classroom. When not working or volunteering, Roberta spent her time reading, camping, socializing with friends and family, and going on adventures to enjoy the sights and sounds of the birds and animals. She was passionate about her family and her Savior. She showed her love for them by her selfless attitude, positive outlook, willingness to listen to others and her giving nature.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents Jean and Robert Zumwalt. She is survived by her sisters Bernita Zumwalt Palmer, Luanne Rae-Hopson, and her brother Roger Zumwalt. She is also survived by her sons Michael and Kevin Slagle, and her daughters Carla Evans and Jan Karn; along with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
