Rosalie Baer, born on March 22, 1928, to Rudolph and Agnes Wacken, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2025, in Salem, Oregon, at the age of 96.
Rosalie's life was a vibrant celebration of creativity and design. She possessed a remarkable talent for fashion design and held a deep appreciation for mid-century modern architecture and house design. Her passion for sewing, tailoring, and alterations reflected her meticulous attention to detail and artistic vision. Through her small alterations business, she shared her skills with her community, earning the loyalty of many customers over the years. In addition to her professional endeavors as a bookkeeper, Rosalie found joy in astrology and reading and cherished driving her beloved Mazda Miata.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Clifford Wacken of Boise, Idaho; her children, Mark (Kathy) Baer and Matt (Judy) Baer; her four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Rosalie was preceded in death by her two sisters, Irene Kerber of Keizer, Oregon, and Lois Wacken of John Day, Oregon.
A graveside service to honor Rosalie's life will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 201 Oak Grove Rd NW, Salem, OR 97304, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
