Rosemary Roth Miller

October 12, 1929 — September 8, 2008

Rosemary Miller passed away on September 8, 2008 at the age of 78. She was born in Portland, Oregon, and was the daughter of Archie and Elinor Roth. Her family ties included ancestors involved in the American Revolution and travelers on the Oregon Trail. She moved across country with her family during her father's service in the Army Air Corps and the Air Force, and lived for a time in Florida. She returned with her family to Oregon where she graduated high school from St. Helen's Hall in Portland. She later graduated from Oregon State College in 1952 with a degree in Home Economics. Rosemary always enjoyed the company of other people, and she worked and volunteered in many positions where she could help others. She worked as a preschool teacher and a social worker, and volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother and worked with Alzheimer patients after her own retirement from Senior Services. Rosemary belonged to many organizations including the DAR, AOII Sorority, and her family's reunion organization, the Kelly Clan. She travelled the world with her aunt, Audrey Smith, and visited Asia, Europe, Scandinavia and historical locations in the United States. An avid gardener, she transformed the spaces around her homes into lush and colorful environments. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Harold, on January 22, 2008. She is survived by son, Eric; and daughter-in-law, Erica. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 19, at Restlawn Funeral Home for family and friends.
