KEIZER - Born in Portland, Oregon on August 8, 1937, to Thomas and Shirley Scholtz. The oldest of three children, Shirley grew up in the Portland area before moving to Salem in 1950. Later, the family settled in Keizer, Oregon where Shirley remained her entire life. Shirley graduated from North Salem High School in 1956.
She married Clarence P. Biggs, April 21, 1962, in Keizer, Oregon, and they were married 37 years when Clarence passed way in 2000. Shirley retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles after 30 years of service. Shirley and Clarence enjoyed retirement by fishing, hunting, antique shopping, gambling at the near by casinos, as well as gardening and enjoying friends and family. Shirley also enjoyed reading and doing jewelry as well as restoring dolls.
Shirley in preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and youngest sibling, Jerry Scholtz and step-daughter Patricia. She is survived by her sister, Barbara E. Neal and her husband Kenneth, 7 nephews and 2 nieces, countless great-nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces, Step-Daughter, Susan Wilson of Aberdeen, Washington and several step-grandchildren in Washington, and many friends and neighbors.
At her request, there will be no service. Shirley will be laid to rest at the Willamette National Cemetery, with her beloved husband with whom she has missed these many years. Arrangements are under the direction of Restlawn Funeral Home of Salem, Oregon.
