Shirley Mae Wolf

March 15, 1930 — September 2, 2022

Shirley Mae Wolf was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left the world peacefully on September 2, 2022 at the age of 92.

She was born to Arthur and Enid Rockafellow on March 15, 1930. After graduating from Salem High School, she married Ray Wolf who had recently come home from serving in the Navy in WW2. They were married 72 years and had 3 children, Sherie Fleetwood, Bill Wolf and Vickie Willson. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Alicia Sims, Jennifer Wolf and Carter Willson and 2 great grandchildren, Blessyn Sims and Zariyah Sims.

Shirley loved family. Shirley and Ray tracked down every relative they could find and would drive across the country to see them. Their 4th of July event attracted family from all parts of the USA. A number of her nieces and nephews saw them as their 2nd parents.

She had a sharp wit and a very good business mind. She worked for the State Forestry department for years, many of them as the administrative assistant to the State Forrester. Along with her husband Ray, they build a large subdivision named WolNel Park and acquired 15 rental houses that she managed
Shirley was an avid reader and would read a book in a day some times. She loved sports, especially baseball. She would always be able to predict what the manager was going to do and knew all the stats. She loved October because basketball, football and baseball were all playing at the same time.
More than anything, she loved her husband, Ray. They built their first home in Keizer and had two children there. In 1962 they bought their farm on Hayesville Dr and later had their third child. For most of their working life they worked next to each other; Shirley at the Forestry Dept and Ray at the Highway Dept. After they retired, they went on regular trips seeking out family and sporting events.
