Stuart Dean Barton passed away peacefully at home on October 29. He was a loving husband and father, and beloved friend to many. Born in Price, Utah to Dean and Arlene Barton. He is survived by his wife Darla, parents, siblings Sue and Doug, children Sandra, Shane, Bradley, Jeremy, Mikayla and Joshua, and grandchildren James, Rylee, Noah, Clay, Alexis, Haley, and Malia.
He worked for Sinclair, Connections Electric, and most recently a bus driver for Salem-Keizer School District as well as a driving instructor for the Oregon Driver Education Center. He found great joy caring for and teaching all of the children and teens he got the privilege of getting to know.
Stuart was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served an LDS mission in Guatemala from 1976-1978. Following his mission, he attended Brigham Young University for business studies and became a lifelong fan of BYU sports. He enjoyed playing softball and golf.
He met his wife, Darla, while attending college and they were married in the Seattle, Washington, LDS Temple for time and all eternity on April 25th, 1981. Family became the center of their lives as they raised their six children with love and enjoyed being involved in all their many activities.
Known by many as Stu, he was loved by all who encountered his wit, charm, and chocolate chip cookies. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, giving heart, infectious sense of humor, and the world's greatest hugs.
