Susan Marie Eggert, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born on May 25, 1940, to Clyde N. Arvin and Merle J. Arvin, both of whom she cherished deeply.
Susan is survived by her loving sister, Carolyn Carter, and her four devoted children: David Brehm, Karen Vanderwerff, Mark Eggert, and Matt Eggert. Susan's legacy lives on through her eleven cherished grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
During her life, Susan dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others. She served as a head start teacher for over 35 years, nurturing young minds and shaping the future with her dedication and passion for education. Beyond her professional life, Susan volunteered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), advocating tirelessly for the rights and well-being of children who needed a voice in the legal system. She also lent her time and heart to Camp Hope, where her compassion and care provided solace and support to those facing challenges.
Susan's love for life was evident in her vibrant spirit. She had a heartwarming laugh that could brighten the darkest days and a talent for painting with watercolors that allowed her creativity to flow onto the canvas. She found immense joy in tending to her garden and nurturing beautiful flowers that blossomed under her care.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the organizations Susan held dear: CASA and Camp Hope, to carry on her legacy of love and support for those in need.
Susan Marie Eggert's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
Rest in peace, dear Susan. Your love and light will forever shine upon us.
