Thelma Alice Jones

Thelma A. Jones, age 85, passed away on February 11, 2011, in Salem, OR. She was born on Sept. 5, 1925 in Madras, OR to William and Thelma Breedlove Carr. Thelma was raised in Oregon and graduated from Estacada High School. She married Dennis W. Jones on August 17, 1944, in Athens, Texas. They moved around with Dennis' career in the Navy, and retired to Salem, OR in 1961. Thelma worked at the Marion County Courthouse and the Surveyor's Office for many years, retiring in 1986. Thelma was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church in Salem, OR.
Dennis preceded Thelma in death on August 8, 1989. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Plaskitt, Portland, OR, son, Kenneth Jones, Anchorage, AK, sisters, Eloise Yingling, Cottage Grove, Dorothy Swanson, Cottage Grove, Patty Ryerson, Oakland, OR, and Donna Warthen, Estacada, OR. Along with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Baptist Church or Willamette Valley Hospice. Thelma and her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Brookstone for the excellent and loving care given to Thelma since she moved there in 2003.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, February 19th there will also be a visitation from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 18th. Services and vivitation will be at Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon.
