Wayne Simons was a great man, who died doing what he loved. On July 17, 2018, he rode into the wind, and left a trail of laughs, love, and memories behind. Thomas Wayne Simons was a generous man who loved his family more than anything, and made sure to spend every chance he could with them. Through all the years Wayne was on this earth, he emitted a kindness that was hard to stay away from. A prime example would be his immediate love and devotion to his wife Nancy Simons, who said yes to him after a short courting while he was in the Navy, and married him and all his glory 40 years ago at the Hitching Post in Las Vegas on May 20, 1978. Wayne’s parents, Thomas and Faye Simons, brought him into this world on Jan. 23, 1956 in Irving, Texas, starting their family of 7. With two brothers and two sisters to play with, Wayne was never without.
After enlisting in the Navy and finding the love of his life, Wayne served his country for 20 years, while raising a family of his own. He had the pleasure of raising three daughters and a son. With a houseful, Wayne got to share his love of camping, laughing, making friends wherever he went, and to travel the world whenever possible. He got to watch his children get married and have kids of their own, and took on the roll of Papa without hesitation. This is exactly why ever moment is now a memory to cherish, and will be held closely to everyone who knew him.
Though he is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Faye Simons, he is also survived by his wife Nancy Simons, his daughters; Pamela (Fransico) Orozco, Jennifer (Scott) Williams, and Catrina Simons, his son; Virgil Simons, his grandchildren; Tristan, Andrew, and Abraham Orozco, Blake Simons, Travis Simons, Evangeline Simons Michael and Braelyn Williams, Nevaeh Simons, and, his sisters; Sharon (Paul) Liebel, and Marilyn (Jerry Oroke) Simons, brothers; Bill Simons, and Ronnie (Karen) Simons, along with many nieces and nephews, and of course everyone who has ever met him.
