Vivian (Vicki) E. Harris, born May 11, 1921 in Nahcotta, Wash. to Roy and Vera Johnson died May 10, 2010 in her home. On September 28, 1940 she married Earl Harris in Hoquiam, Wash. They had two children, Stephen and Joanna. Moving to Salem in 1951 they became active members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, reading and boating. Her family and friends were very important to her and some of her happiest moments were those shared in their company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl and by her brother, Loyle Johnson. Vicki is survived by her son, Stephen Skip Harris and his wife, Lynda of Eugene; her daughter, Joanna Bret Claire of Salem; four grandchildren, Darren Harris (Caroline) of Sherwood, Kevin Harris of Eugene, Ryan Harter (Jane) of Salem and Sara Thede of Pendleton; six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Dean, Drew, Ryan, Madison and Regina; and one great-great-grandson, Ryan. In the past few years Vicki has enjoyed her trips to "camp" at the Center 50+ Among Friends Respite Program. Donations in her name may be made to Among Friends Respite Program, Center 50+, 2615 Portland Road NE, Salem, OR 97301. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., May 15, 2010 at Restlawn Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15 at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Road NW, Salem.
