Walter “Warren” Patterson (74) of Salem, OR passed due to an ongoing illness on September 16th, 2018. He was born in Salem, OR on February 13th, 1944 to parents Lewis and Susie Patterson. Warren attended Pringle Elementary, Judson Middle School, and South Salem High School. He attended college at Northwest Nazarene University and George Fox University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources. For 30 years, Warren worked for Norpac Foods, and retired from the State of Oregon as a placement specialist. He enjoyed camping, hunting, westerns, and was a lifelong Trail Blazers fan. His passion was collecting and restoring classic cars and attending car shows, as well as garage sales and swap meets. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Warren was an active and lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife Margy; daughters Genon (Mark) Goodman, Shari (Rich) Hall, and son Nick (Kerri) Patterson; grandchildren; Ashlee, Abby, Ayden, Mikayla, and Kayden; brothers Gordon and Stan Patterson; as well as his beloved dog Cleo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Susie Patterson, and brother Rodney.
The Patterson family invites anyone who has a classic car to drive it to the church service in Warren’s memory.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday Sept. 23, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene at 2pm. A viewing will be held at Restlawn Funeral Home 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW, Salem, OR 97304 from 10am -1pm with private internment to follow.
