Less than two months from her 96th birthday, Winifred passed away in Salem, Oregon. She suffered injuries at her home on March 22, 2007, which required her to live in a care center since then. Up until the day of her fall, she lived independently and enjoyed doing her crafts and gardening.
Winifred Trimble was born to Kelly and Cora May (Wells) Trimble in Middletown, Ohio. She married Joseph "Joe" J. Slimak also of Middletown, on August 30, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1993 after nearly 56 years of marriage.
Winifred is survived by her children, Barbara Slimak of Aumsville, Oregon, and Bill (wife Meribeth) Slimak of Keizer, Oregon; grandchildren, Kevin Slimak, Joseph Slimak and Anna Slimak Luna; 5 great grandchildren, brother and sisters, Herb Trimble, ruby Highley, Lucymae McNabb and Mildred Pierce all of Middletown, Ohio.
Winifred and Joe enjoyed many years of square dancing and traveling with their friends. They moved to Oregon from Ohio in 1946 and lived the remainder of their lived there. Winifred enjoyed hobbies of collecting and doing crafts and gardening.
At her request there will be no services. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to The Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon.
